Ingredients
  

  • 2 whole wheat pita breads
  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes halved

Instructions
 

  • Cut each pita bread into 8 wedges to form triangle shapes resembling tree sections.
  • Lightly toast the pita wedges in the oven at 350°F for about 5 minutes until they are slightly crisp but not too hard.
  • In a medium bowl, scoop out the avocados and mash them with a fork until smooth.
  • Add the lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper, and mix until well combined.
  • Spread a generous layer of the mashed avocado mixture on each toasted pita wedge.
  • Top each avocado-covered wedge with halved cherry tomatoes, arranging them to resemble festive tree decorations.
  • Arrange the pita trees on a serving platter. Serve these festive avocado pita tree appetizers immediately, or store them in the refrigerator until ready to serve. They make a delightful and healthy addition to any holiday gathering.

Notes

For additional flavor, consider adding a pinch of chili flakes or a drizzle of balsamic glaze on top.
