Soft & Chewy Easter Themed Cookies
Freezer dough? Colorful candy chocolates on top? Cookies ready when you need them for Easter? That’s these soft and chewy Easter-themed M&M cookies!

So easy these cookies! Make dough and freeze it, then bake from frozen which is super smart and convenient. You can do them wayyy ahead if you need to.

Colorful candy chocolates on top (M&M’s are good for this or whatever else you prefer). These colorful cookies look like Easter to me! Middle part stays soft and edges get a little crispy. Just perfection.
Ingredients

- 2 ½ cups flour, the regular kind (300 g)
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup butter with no salt, soft (225 g)
- ½ cup sugar (100 g)
- 1 egg yolk, the big egg size
- Candy chocolates with coating like M&M’s, as many as you want
- Sprinkles in colors if you like
Makes 18 to 22. Work time 15 minutes. Freeze 1 hour. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Easy level!
How to Do It
Cream the Butter and Sugar

Big bowl. Beat soft butter and sugar together until fluffy and light looking. Egg yolk goes in now. Mix it good until combined.
Add Dry Ingredients

Flour and baking powder go right in the bowl. Just mix until dough forms and looks soft. Too much mixing makes them tough so stop!
Shape the Cookies

Scoop dough with a tablespoon. Roll into balls with your hands. Parchment paper on a tray first. Put balls on there.

Press candy chocolates into the top softly. Not too hard or they squish in too much.
Freeze the Dough
Freezer time! Leave for 1 hour minimum. Touch them to check if firm. This step makes them bake perfect.
Bake

Oven goes to 350°F. 175°C if that’s your oven. Frozen balls go on a baking sheet with parchment. Space them out some cause spreading happens. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Edges set but middle soft.
Finish and Cool

Out of the oven now. Sit on the sheet for 5 minutes first. Sprinkles go on while warm if you’re using them. They stick better. Wire rack for cooling all the way.
