Valentine’s Day Oreos

So these Valentine’s Day Oreos are like my go-to probabluy almost every February. They’re just that easy to make!! I’ve made them a few years in a row now! They take maybe 25 minutes if you’re being slow about it, like for example, first time making them. Not bad, huh?
No oven needed – just simply grab some Oreos from the pantry, melt some candy, throw super cute Vday-themed sprinkles on top. That’s the whole thing. My coworkers act like I’m some kind of dessert genius when I bring these in. Little do they know I made them in less than half an hour while watching Netflix the night before, you know?
If you need something that looks cute but doesn’t require actual baking skills, this is it – let’s check out the ingredients and the instructions next.
Ingredients

- 1 package of Oreo cookies – Regular ones are what I use most of the time. But Double Stuf? Those are amazing for this too, just way thicker. A whole package has like 36 cookies in it I think, so you can dip however many you actually want to deal with! I used 12.
- 12 oz white candy melts – The craft store has these, or just check the baking aisle at your regular grocery store. I usually get Wilton brand because that’s what they always have. Ghirardelli is good too if you see it. Honestly any white candy melts work fine though! One 12 oz bag covers about 12 to 15 Oreos with plenty of coating on them.
- Red heart sprinkles (or any Valentine’s-themed sprinkles) – This part is totally up to you. The little hearts are super cute! Pink and red nonpareils work great. You could even do conversation hearts if you find tiny ones. I tried crushed freeze-dried strawberries once and that was actually really good? Just make sure whatever you pick is small enough to actually stick to the wet candy.
How to do it

1. Prepare Your Workspace: Get a baking sheet and cover it with parchment paper or wax paper. This is where your Oreos go when they’re all dipped and wet. Trust me, if you skip this step you’ll be scraping dried candy off your pan later and it’s the worst!
2. Melt the White Candy Melts: Put the candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Follow what the package says but it’s usually like 30 seconds at a time in the microwave. Stir it after each time! Keep going until it’s all smooth and melted. Don’t try to rush it by doing longer intervals because the candy gets weird and lumpy if you overheat it, I learned that the hard way.
3. Dip the Oreos: So grab a fork and use that to dip each Oreo into your melted candy. Let the extra candy drip back into the bowl. I usually tap the fork on the side of the bowl a couple times to get the excess off. Then just put the Oreo on your lined baking sheet! Using a fork instead of your fingers makes them look way better and less messy.

4. Add Sprinkles: While everything’s still wet and sticky, this is when you add your sprinkles on top. Don’t be shy with them! Make them look festive and fun. This is honestly my favorite part because you can just be creative with it.

5. Set the Oreos: Now you wait for the candy coating to get hard. Room temperature takes like 10 to 15 minutes I think? Or throw the whole baking sheet in the fridge for 5 minutes if you’re impatient like me. I almost always do the fridge thing because waiting around is boring.

6. Serve and Enjoy: That’s it, they’re done! You can eat them right away or save them for later. I keep leftovers in an airtight container on the counter. They last about a week that way, though honestly they never make it that long at my house!

Instructions
- Prepare Your Workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper to place your dipped Oreos for cooling.

- Dip the Oreos: Using a fork, dip each Oreo into the melted candy. Let the excess candy coating drip off and gently tap the fork against the side of the bowl. Place the dipped Oreo onto the prepared baking sheet.

- Set the Oreos: Let the Oreos sit at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes or until the candy coating hardens. For faster results, you can place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 5 minutes.
- Serve and Enjoy: Once set, your Valentine’s Day Oreos are ready to enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
